My name is Karissa Garcia and I am the youngest out of 3 kids. I'm a junior at Robert Vela Highschool. I am currently a member of the National Honor Society and the LEO's Club. School is a very important thing to me because I really want to get into a good school, so that I could get a really good amount of money. One goal of mine is to be financially stable.
The reason I want to go to this University is because both of my parents went to UT. They are both die heart fans of Texas. My sister went to UTRGV, my brother is currently at UofA, so I feel as if I need to continue a tradition they started. UT has always been at the top of the list of schools I would like to attend.
I want to graduate with a degree in Nursing. My mom was a LVN and she made a goo amount of money but nowadays. LVN's are't needed in hospitals anymore because RN's have taken over their jobs. My mom was in charge of handling the babies after they were born. Because they weren't needed in hospitals, they had to work at nursing homes and hospitals. I wanted to work at a hospital where their was more action.
My mom and dad both went into something that had to do with medicine. My mom is an LVN and my dad was a surgical rep. My mom took care of babies and my dad would sell equipment to hospitals, but in order to do that he needed to learn thing about the body, so he basically qualified as a Doctor. They were both my inspirations to why I chose a job in nursing.
